Alpine School District is preparing for an important upgrade to its student information system as part of ongoing district reconfiguration efforts. After eighteen years of service with Skyward SMS 2.0, the district will transition to Skyward’s newest platform, Qmlativ, with a planned go-live date of July 27, 2026.
What Families Can Expect
During the transition period this summer, access to Skyward will be temporarily interrupted. Students and Parents will have access to the current system through the end of the day June 19th, 2026. After that time, access will be paused while final system migration takes place. Student and Parent access will resume when Qmlativ goes live on July 27, 2026.
New Student Enrollment Timeline
Families enrolling new students should be aware of important deadlines:
New student enrollment in the current system (SMS 2.0) will be available through July 17, 2026.
Enrollment will be temporarily unavailable from July 18 through July 26.
Enrollment will reopen on July 27, 2026 in the new Qmlativ system.
Families with unsubmitted or incomplete applications after July 17 will need to reapply once the new system is live.
Annual Student Information Update Required
As in previous years, parents and guardians must complete the annual Student Information Update for each student. For the 2026–27 school year, this process will take place in the new Qmlativ system.
Beginning July 27, 2026, student accounts—including Alpine Google access—will be temporarily disabled until this update is completed. To ensure students can access school systems on the first day of school, families are encouraged to complete the update as soon as it becomes available.
As part of the annual Student Information Update, parents and guardians will also review and acknowledge the district’s Acceptable Use Policy (AUP), which outlines expectations for responsible use of school technology, internet access, and digital resources. Completion of this acknowledgment is required each year and must be submitted before student accounts, including Alpine Google access, are reactivated.
Mobile App Update
Families using the Skyward mobile app will need to delete the current app from their device and reinstall it after July 27, 2026. Although it is the same Skyward app, reinstalling is required for it to connect properly to the new Qmlativ system. Login instructions will be provided at that time.
Looking Ahead
While a short adjustment period is expected with any major technology change, the transition to Skyward Qmlativ represents a significant step forward. The upgraded system will better support the needs of students, families, and schools by providing more reliable access to accurate, timely information.
Additional information, including resources and guidance for families, will be shared on the district website as the transition date approaches.
Check back for updates as they become available here.
